Dense Gas Tracers and Star Formation Laws in Active Galaxies: Apex Survey of Hcn J=4→3 Hco J=4→3, and Cs J=7→6

We report CS J=7→6, HCN J=4→3, and HCO J=4→3 observations in 20 nearby star-forming galaxies with the Acatama Pathfinder EXperiment 12-m telescope. Combined with 4 CS, 4 HCN, and 3 HCO detections in literature, we probe the empirical link between the luminosity of molecular gas (L′gas) and that of infrared emission (LIR), up to the highest gas densities (106 108cm−3 ) that have been probed so f...

HCO + ( J = 4 − 3 ) mapping of the molecular disk around IRS 7 in Corona Australis ?

Submillimetre HCO+(J = 4− 3) mapping observations of the immediate environs of the infrared source IRS 7 in Corona Australis have provided corroborative evidence for the existence of the rotating molecular disk detailed in our earlier paper. An improved estimate of 0.8M for the mass of the central protostar is obtained.

Spatially resolved H 2 emission from the disk around T Tau N ⋆

Context. Molecular hydrogen is the main constituent of circumstellar disks and could be an important tracer for the evolution and structure of such disks. So far, H 2 has only been detected in a few disks and only through spectroscopic observations, resulting in a limited knowledge of the spatial distribution of the H 2 emitting gas. Aims. We report the detection of quiescent H 2 emission in a ...

Discovery of Resolved Debris Disk around Hd 131835

We report the discovery of the resolved disk around HD 131835 and present the analysis and modeling of its thermal emission. HD 131835 is a ∼15 Myr A2 star in the Scorpius–Centaurus OB association at a distance of 122.7+ 12.8 16.2 pc . The extended disk has been detected to ~  1. 5 (200 AU) at 11.7 and 18.3 μm with T-ReCS on Gemini South. The disk is inclined at an angle of ∼75°with the positi...
